The ROM and other goodnesses
I rotated this past weekend between the ROM, checking out the new digs, which seem more impressive at this point from the outside; and the Toronto Comic Con, which was inspiring and encouraging. It was pretty neat to gather some insight into various artists’ processes. I made a complete and utter fan boy ass out of myself when meeting Tara McPherson, whose work is maddeningly good.
I am still working away, trying to get the portfolio up. I’ve settled on a design I like and I’m attempting to populate it with the right flavour. Meanwhile I’m knee-deep on a couple of freelance gigs, one for a tv property and another sans fee for a non-profit, both of which seem to be going relatively smoothly (more to come when the material goes up) which means I’m probably in for a rude awakening at some point.
