Portfolioland
Over the next few weeks months, I will be working hard on updating both my site and portfolio. It’s been too long in the making and around town recently it became apparent that no one really knows what I do anymore. In any case over the next little while templates will change, things will break and hopefully you’ll see some improvements. Note to self: you can not set body copy in sIFR. Cheers.
Update: Well, it’s coming along slowly, another half-done page added, next up will be the addition of fully flushed out functionality, i.e. a working sketchbook. Additionally I’m planning to add some kind of additional image gallery or photoblog as a temp portfolio to send clients to in the interim.
Update: New template up and ready for modification. Some more temporary portfolio material up. Andrew Adamson (Fatfx) has gladly helped me work out a solution for my problems regarding using Flash type to render out on my main page. I also need to be posting far more regularly to my blog. Finally, I need to make sure I work through and customise all my link and meta data. Adding a blip.fm link for the sake of it, might also be kind of cool. I mean if you don’t like coeur de pirate, will we really get along?
Update: Closing in on actually having a fully functional site up. The preliminary designs for the final two pages are done, and the Client List page needs only be built, and regardless of how tricky it might first seem I’m comfortable that it won’t be more than a day’s work. The temporary sketchbook/portfolio gallery’s been constructed in Wordpress using PhotoQ. Most surprisingly, I’ve completed the traditional animation page curl/turn that I had thought about for the main page. I should be able to make it live this weekend. I finally cleared the bug in my Twitter – Flash code – which incidentally is not the code Andrew wrote, I broke that stuff. And I added all the site navigation. Once the rudimentary skin is complete for the sketchbook, I’ll get that up and have to start populating it with design material. Feeling good, but not getting to the gym much. Soon. Soon.
